UAE universities have clinched the spotlight in the latest QS classification for 2025, securing the highest number of positions among the top 20 Arab universities.

With an impressive tally of eight universities making the cut, the UAE reaffirms its prowess in higher education within the Arab region.

UAE colleges have improved their status even further by taking up 11 positions out of the top 30 Arab universities. This noteworthy accomplishment highlights the UAE's dedication to academic excellence and demonstrates the extent of its expanding influence in the field of higher education. Universities are carefully assessed according to a number of criteria by the Quacquarelli Simonds Foundation, which maintains the QS classification. The institution's status among employers and its academic reputation are two important metrics that are taken into account. These metrics demonstrate the institution's influence and recognition in both the academic and professional domains.

Khalifa University of the Emirates emerges as a frontrunner, claiming the sixth position among Arab universities and securing a noteworthy global ranking of 202. This achievement underscores its commitment to academic excellence and its emergence as a global contender in the field of education. Not to be outdone, the United Arab Emirates University solidifies its position by clinching the eighth spot among Arab universities and securing a commendable global ranking of 261. This accomplishment underscores its unwavering pursuit of excellence in education and research.

A Diverse Landscape of Excellence

The American University of Sharjah asserts its prominence by securing the ninth spot among Arab universities and clinching a commendable global ranking of 332. This diversity in educational excellence mirrors the rich tapestry of academic offerings within the UAE.

The University of Sharjah and Ajman University bolster the UAE's educational landscape by securing the 14th and 15th positions, respectively, among Arab universities. These institutions continue to make significant contributions to education and research within the region and beyond. The American University of Ras Al Khaimah and Abu Dhabi University further enrich the educational landscape by securing the 16th and 17th positions, respectively, among Arab universities. Their commitment to academic innovation and research excellence is commendable.

The Canadian University in Dubai secures the 20th position, further solidifying the UAE's status as an international education hub. This recognition underscores the UAE's commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment. Al Ain University, the American University in Dubai, and Zayed University further underscore the UAE's growing influence in the academic arena by securing the 22nd, 29th, and 30th positions, respectively, among Arab universities. Their contributions to education and research are invaluable.

The Foundation of Excellence

The QS classification methodology is based on nine essential indicators, each with a specified weight. These include academic repute, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty member, international faculty member percentage, and research network, among others. This all-encompassing approach guarantees a fair and full assessment of each institution's academic standing and influence. The most recent QS classification reinforces the UAE's position as a dominant force in Arab higher education, with its universities continuously outperforming on both regional and worldwide arenas.
