A novel program to improve the well-being of delivery service employees around the country has been introduced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization in partnership with public and private organizations.
Six thousand specially designated rest zones will be created when the "noon work ban" takes effect on June 15 and lasts until September 15. In order to make these rest areas easily accessible for the workers, an interactive map will also be made available.

Collaboration with well-known delivery platforms like "Talabat," "Deliveroo," "Noon," and "Careem," as well as partnerships with the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, the Integrated Transport Center in Abu Dhabi, and economic departments throughout the emirates, all demonstrate the Ministry's dedication to the cause. Furthermore, a plethora of eateries, retail establishments, shopping malls, and cloud kitchens have committed to providing rest areas for delivery drivers.

365 safe and air-conditioned rest stops were made available as part of the successful project last year; this year's effort is a cooperative effort including a wider range of partners. The development of rest areas demonstrates a shared concern for the health and safety of delivery personnel, especially in the face of summertime heat waves.
The "noon work ban" mandates employers to furnish shaded resting areas, adequate cooling mechanisms, and ample cold drinking water for workers. Additionally, provisions for irrigation materials and first aid kits are required to be in place, ensuring compliance with safety and health standards.

Community members are encouraged by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization to report any infractions of the "noon work ban" via the Ministry's website, smart application, and dedicated phone center. By being proactive, we hope to protect worker rights and promptly resolve any violations.
