The Honorable The 82nd meeting of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy was chaired virtually by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
The session included the presence of the Vice Chairman, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer. The meeting focused on various strategic initiatives, especially in the domain of green mobility and sustainability.
One of the main items on the agenda was the revision of the "Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030." In order to further the emirate's objectives of sustainability, better air quality, and lower greenhouse gas emissions, this approach is essential for encouraging eco-friendly and sustainable mobility throughout Dubai. With an emphasis on adding more electric and hybrid cars to their fleet, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) revealed their current and future objectives under this approach. This program supports the goals of the country to promote sustainable development and reduce carbon emissions from buses, taxis, and metros, among other forms of public transportation.
Roadmap and Implementation
The RTA has created a comprehensive plan with yearly projects and activities. The ultimate objective is for all public transportation to be carbon neutral by 2050. The council examined the annual plan's development and assessed performance metrics derived from authorized projects and activities. The governance of Dubai's energy, water, electricity, and central air conditioning sectors is supported by this review.
Dubai Supreme Council of Energy Vice Chairman Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer emphasized the goals and directions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, as well as Dubai's ruler. He highlighted the continuous endeavors to transform Dubai into the world's most intelligent and joyful metropolis. The council wants to create a sustainable environment that benefits both present and future generations by encouraging green mobility. The strategic plans of the council, according to Al Tayer, are made to guarantee the efficient execution and provision of superior services, which would eventually improve the standard of living for all Dubai inhabitants and guests.

Significant advancements have been made over the last five years, according to Ahmed Butti Al Muhairbi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai. The RTA's fleet now includes a notably larger number of electric and hybrid vehicles in addition to conventional transit options, including buses and the metro.
