Preventing holders of Saudi visit visas from entering 4 airports

Mohamed Shalaby - | Arab

Since the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia introduced the visit visa, the Kingdom has made a ruling that prohibits the entry of certain airports by the holders of these visas, blocking the entry of Saudi visit visa holders into four airports. In order for them to enter the Kingdom from the other airports, this choice refers to a certain time frame because it coincides with the beginning of the Hajj season. Four airports prohibit entry for holders of Saudi visit visas.

Traveling to Saudi Arabia during the Hajj season

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia makes an effort to keep the annual pilgrimage figures that are formally declared.

There is a growing number of pilgrims who do not possess a Hajj permission for pilgrims traveling within the country or a special visa for pilgrims traveling beyond the Kingdom.

The desire of many Muslims worldwide to fulfill the pillar that God has mandated for them, for whoever is able to do so, is the reason for this increase.

The fact that more pilgrims are being identified and that more visas for the Hajj are being issued by most nations in the world are also contributing factors to the rising numbers.

These visas are given to travel agencies so they can resell them to people who want to do the Hajj.

Even so, despite the tighter regulation of entry into the Kingdom, many pilgrims continue to undertake the Hajj in defiance of the regulations of the Kingdom.

Visa for a travel to Saudi Arabia

Within its borders, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia grants visitation visas, but at an extra cost.

These fees are different depending on how long the family stays in the Kingdom and how long they stay, and they are as follows:

  • For a 48-hour visit, the cost is 100 Saudi riyals.
  • The cost for a 96-hour visit is 300 riyals.
  • A short-term visit lasting anywhere from 14 to 30 days costs roughly 300 Saudi riyals.
  • Six-month visiting fees: Three thousand Saudi riyals are paid.

Is it forbidden to access certain airports with a visa?

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia forbids the entry of four airports with the following three types of visas:

  • Visa for a family visit
  • Business travel authorization
  • Visa for individual visitation

Airports in Saudi Arabia forbade entrance The following four airports are the ones that holders of the aforementioned visas are prohibited from entering:

Airports in Jeddah, Madinah, Munawwarah, and Yanbu Airport Taif

How long will it be prohibited to enter certain airports?

This ruling will take effect on May 18, 2024, which is Dhu al-Qa'dah 10, and it will remain in effect until June 15, 2024, which is Dhu al-Hijjah 10.

The rationale behind prohibiting access to these airports Because certain airports will be designated to accommodate pilgrims, entry with a visit visa will be forbidden.

As a result, there will be less strain on these airports, enabling them to handle pilgrim arrivals more effectively.
