This resolution is effective immediately upon issuance and is published in the Official Gazette.

Dubai Camel Racing Club Objectives

Decree No. 38 of 2024 outlines the primary objectives of the Dubai Camel Racing Club. These include enhancing Dubai’s stature as a regional and global hub for camel racing, promoting and developing the sport to international standards, and preserving it as a cherished historical and Arab heritage of the UAE. The decree aims to inspire future generations to safeguard and sustain this cultural legacy, foster appreciation for purebred Arabian camels, expand knowledge in camel sports, and meticulously document data pertaining to purebred Arabian camel breeds.

Club Responsibilities and Specializations

The decree specifies the club’s responsibilities, such as adhering to global standards in camel racing, conducting relevant studies and research, and organizing both local and international camel racing events in collaboration with pertinent government bodies. The club is tasked with formulating and updating rules, regulations, and provisions that align with international norms for camel sports and competitions. Additionally, it organizes exhibitions, conferences, workshops, and specialized programs to advance its objectives. The club coordinates closely with governmental entities to establish licensing standards and regulatory controls for camel establishments in Dubai, ensuring these activities contribute effectively to the club’s mission.

In accordance with the decree, the club oversees camel auctions, sets stringent criteria for their organization, and establishes a comprehensive database to preserve the lineage of purebred Arabian camels. This database supports the club’s objectives by facilitating strategic utilization of camel breeds and serves as a cornerstone for developing related enterprises and institutions within the legal framework.

Cooperation and Implementation

The decree mandates full cooperation from all Dubai government agencies and entities to support the club in fulfilling its duties as outlined in the decree and subsequent decisions. The club’s president, with approval from the board of directors, is authorized to issue necessary decisions to implement the decree’s provisions. Resolution No. 6 of 2008, along with any conflicting texts in other legislation, is repealed by this decree, with existing regulations and instructions continuing to apply until new ones are formulated.

This comprehensive framework established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum aims to elevate the Dubai Camel Racing Club’s role, ensuring it remains a beacon for the promotion, preservation, and global advancement of camel racing.
