Highlights from Bangladesh's Twenty20 World Cup 2024 match against Nepal: The victory that Bangladesh achieved over Nepal by a score of 21 runs allowed them to advance to the Super 8s.
They have won three out of four matches in their group round of the Twenty20 World Cup, and they have also advanced to the Super 8 phase. Bangladesh has played some thrilling cricket in the tournament that is now taking place. During their most recent encounter, which was played against Nepal, they were able to successfully defend 106 runs, resulting in a victory by 21 runs. Rohit Paudel, the skipper of Nepal, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, the bowler for Bangladesh, were in the news during the match because their tempers flared in the middle of the match between them.
However, another event that caught everyone's attention was when the Bangladesh players asked for assistance from the dugout before deciding to go with DRS. Tanzim Hasan was once again in the spotlight for the same reason. It was during the fourteenth over of Bangladesh's innings that the event took place. Sandeep Lamichhane had dismissed the batter leg before wicket, and the umpire had ruled that he was out. It was only after Tanzim's teammate Jaker Ali intervened and asked him to go for the DRS after someone from the dugout signaled for them to do so that Jaker Ali was able to stop him from leaving.
Furthermore, the 15-second period had already expired by that point, and even after that, the umpires permitted the batter to choose to use the DRS, which resulted in the decision being reversed since the Hawk-eye indicated that the ball would have been able to avoid hitting the stumps rather than miss them. Now that the video of the same has gone viral, fans are asking serious issues about the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The fact that Lamichhane castled Tanzim on the very next delivery meant that Tanzim had to walk back to the dugout, which resulted in Nepal incurring a relatively low cost. However, Nepal was only able to restrict Bangladesh to 106 runs, and they were unable to chase down the total later on since they were only able to score 85 runs. There were only three batters on their team that reached double digits: Aasif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, and Dipendra Singh Airee. Each of these three players scored 17, 27, and 25 runs respectively. However, Nepal was unable to achieve their goal of winning their very first Twenty20 World Cup match despite their valiant attempts.
