Legendary football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a partnership with human performance company WHOOP to be the brand’s official global ambassador and an investor in the company.
With this deal, Ronaldo makes one of his biggest investments to date and joins the growing group of global ambassador investors for the brand, which also includes Patrick Mahomes, Michael Phelps, Eli Manning, and Rory McIlroy.
A wearable health and fitness coach called WHOOP, a business valued at about $4 billion, helps users reach their objectives by offering suggestions and actionable feedback on recuperation, sleep, training, and overall wellness.
According to Will Ahmed, the CEO and founder of WHOOP, the collaboration between the organization and Ronaldo is apparent.
"Cristiano Ronaldo has really been the pinnacle of human performance for the last 20 years," Ahmed stated in an interview with Al Arabiya English. "WHOOP is on the mission to unlock that performance." Thus, in my opinion, it's the ideal collaboration.
In the end, we seek out athletes who are true to themselves and represent their brand. Cristiano stated, "There is an authenticity to his enjoyment of the product. He had been wearing WHOOP on his own for the last two years and he was interested in partnering with WHOOP."
WHOOP has been “a game-changer” for the athlete.
The Portuguese football player said in a statement to Al Arabiya English: "Since joining Al Nassr, I've really connected with the region's vibrant sports culture." My attention to detail in everything from my training to my sleep has made me realize how important accurate health data is. WHOOP has been essential in supplying that knowledge.
One of the best football players of all time, Ronaldo's success has been based on his preoccupation with giving his all on the field.
Former colleagues frequently cite his commitment to self-improvement as the main factor in his success, saying that he is the first to train and the last to depart.
The player is presently leading the Saudi Pro League in scoring, was the top scorer in the world in 2023, and is getting ready for the summer's European Championship.
Ronaldo and WHOOP have agreed to collaborate on product development and use data-driven insights to provide athletes and the general public with the greatest health and fitness coaching available.
The CEO of WHOOP told Al Arabiya English that the agreement represents the company's trajectory of global growth and its dedication to transforming the field of human performance.
"WHOOP is expanding more globally than it has ever done at this time. Particularly in the past year, we have expanded throughout the GCC. We therefore have a strong emphasis on the Gulf, and because Ronaldo is now in Riyadh, it goes without saying that we believe he will assist accelerate our expansion there, Ahmed added.
As customer demand for the brand has grown, WHOOP had announced in April that it would be extending its presence to a number of important countries and locations, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
"I'm thrilled about WHOOP's potential to transform everyday health routines as well as sports training as it spreads throughout the Middle East. WHOOP is for anyone who wants to improve their performance and health, not only athletes. For me, it's been a game-changer, and I have no doubt that it will have a significant impact on others as well," Ronaldo said to Al Arabiya English.
