Emirates, the esteemed Dubai-based airline renowned for its global reach, has embarked on a new venture in partnership with Avianca, a prominent Latin-American carrier.
This collaboration marks the initiation of a codeshare agreement, facilitating seamless travel experiences for passengers on selected routes.
In an era where connectivity reigns supreme, Emirates and Avianca are at the forefront, bridging continents and bringing destinations closer together. Through this codeshare partnership, travelers gain access to an expanded network with seamless connections between Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.
Emirates travelers originating from primary airports like Madrid, Barcelona, or London Heathrow can now capitalize on direct routes to three Colombian destinations, coupled with the perks of smooth connectivity and additional travel benefits. The codeshare offerings encompass flights originating from London Heathrow to Bogotá, as well as routes departing from Madrid to Bogotá, Medellin, or Cali.
In return, Avianca, Colombia's primary airline, will extend its codeshare agreement to encompass Emirates-operated flights connecting Dubai with significant European gateways such as Barcelona, Madrid, or London Heathrow. This symbiotic arrangement ensures that Avianca passengers travel aboard Emirates' wide-body aircraft, reaping all the advantages offered by the Dubai-based carrier.
Commencement and booking
The codeshare services will start on June 4th, the same day that Emirates launches its daily route from Miami to Bogota. Travelers have a number of options for quickly obtaining their tickets: specialized mobile applications, contact centers, approved travel agencies both online and offline, and web portals like Emirates.com and Avianca.com.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, conveyed his excitement by expressing, "We are thrilled to initiate a codeshare collaboration with Avianca, Colombia's leading airline, to offer seamless connections on specific routes to passengers of both airlines."
With a customer-centric approach in mind, both airlines have streamlined the booking process, enabling hassle-free itinerary planning on a single ticket. Passengers stand to benefit from competitive fares, a unified baggage policy, and uninterrupted connectivity throughout their journey.
Claudio Vélez, Chief Revenue Officer at Avianca, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the partnership's significance in bolstering connectivity and accessibility to new destinations. He commented, "This partnership will shorten the distance between our region and Dubai through Europe, while also enhancing Avianca's presence in Barcelona, Madrid, and London Heathrow."
Pioneering Collaboration
This strategic alliance further solidifies Emirates' position in the aviation industry, adding to its extensive network of 161 interline, codeshare, and intermodal partners worldwide. It also underscores Avianca's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, positioning both airlines as pioneers in the realm of global air travel.
As the partnership unfolds, both Emirates and Avianca are poised to explore new avenues of cooperation, promising to introduce enhanced benefits and value-added services in the future. Together, they embark on a journey to redefine the travel experience, making it more seamless, convenient, and enriching for passengers across continents.
